Last night, we had our first Impact meeting of the semester, which is just a time where my friends and I get together and discuss the Word and how it applies to our lives. It was such an awesome meeting and impacted (no pun intended!) me so much. By the way, we meet on Tuesdays at 8:30 at different homes…let me know if you'd like to come and I'll let you know where we will be meeting!
Back to the meeting…we watched a skit online where one man portrayed God, and another a man. God was chiseling away the sin inside of the man and the things that didn't fit with His plan for the man's life. It was really a neat picture of what God does to our lives all of the time and how He wants to change us and mold us into His image. This morning, as I was reading the Word, I opened up to Ezekiel 40-42, which talks about how the temple of the Lord was to be built. As I read, I noticed how precise the instructions for the building were. He gives specific measurements and certain things that are to be carved into certain spots. It's very technical and as I read, I was really wondering, "And why did you want me to read this, Lord? I mean really, why is it even in the Bible? What can we gain from reading all of these technical measurements?" Well, I think if we would have been chatting online or via text, God would have sent, "LOL! Don't you get it?"
And then it hit me: Just like the physical structure of the temple in Israel, God has very precise, specific plans for what our bodies and hearts, His temple, are to look like. He wants to chisel away the things that don't belong and mold us into His image. He has a perfect plan for us and for our lives, and all we have to do to know this plan is to follow Him. Seek after Him with your heart!
I encourage you to open up His Word and see what He has for you. After all, the Bible is like the owner's manual for God's children. Isn't it peaceful to know that you don't have to go at this crazy thing called life alone?!

Passion 2010...!!!!!
I am so pumped about this conference! I have never been to a Passion conference, but after looking at the website and watching some of the promo videos, it is going to be AMAZING!!! You should check out the website: http://268generation.com/passion2010/
There are so many great bands - David Crowder Band, Matt Redman, FEE, Hillsong, and more! And great speakers too, like Louie Giglio, Beth Moore, and John Piper. It is going to be one amazing conference, not only because of the bands and speakers, but because of the true mission of the movement: to make Jesus known throughout the world. If you will be free January 2-5 and able to go, I highly encourage it! Check it out!

The lame-o poll explained
I posted the poll to your right only because I really am curious. I want to know if I am just not studious and don't do enough homework or if most other college students are the same way. For most classes, I typically wait until a couple days before a test to cram rather than steadily studying, regardless of how hard I try not to. Maybe I just need some motivation...who knows! Anyway, I'd love your feedback!

"You alone can satisfy..."
Today as I got home from church, I rummaged through the fridge and pantry to see what I could find for lunch. The result: Ramen noodles! I felt like quite the college student, but hey - it was what I had, and it was actually not so bad :) (This has nothing to do with the rest of my post, I just thought I'd share an interesting tidbit about my day.)
My pastor spoke today about Jesus being the only one who can bring us satisfaction, and I really related to it. It's so easy to get caught up in what the world says will satisfy us. Many of those things will satisfy us, for a little while at least. Then, the satisfaction wears off and we have to find something else to satisfy our needs. The needs will never go away but will make themselves known through different situations, and regardless of what you do to try and fill the need, it will never be filled. Unless you fill it with Christ. That is why he came after all, isn't it? He came to save us from ourselves and from the world. He came so that we wouldn't have to search anymore for something to fill or satisfy our needs. He can satisfy them ALL if you just ask Him to.
This message was really great and I enjoyed it, but what really made it hit home was when I heard something similar on the radio this evening. Then I really stopped to listen because if God tells me the same thing twice in the same day, I figure I'd better pay attention! Anyway, it made me question, what need am I trying to fill on my own or through worldly pleasures? So I leave you with the same question. And remember, God created us and knows all of our needs…and He is the only one who can fulfill them.

It's been a while...
So, it's been quite a while since my last post...yikes! Sorry I haven't been a very studious blogger. I will try to do better :)
Trying to decide what to write about tonight, considering it's been so long since I last wrote, I grabbed my journal. Here are a few of the things I found that I wanted to share:
I went to my first UL football game last Saturday...a little behind, I know, considering I am a junior. I really enjoyed it though. We hung out all afternoon before the game, tailgated a while with the BCM, then stood in line to be the first ones in the stadium. We sat right on the sidelines, which was very fun! By the time the game started, though, we didn't really have seats. We had to stand at the railing the whole time and didn't really have any room to move. But it was all worth it when we won!
Last Sunday, my cousin Rebecca and her husband Matt came into town from Georgia and we had a little family reunion at my Grandmom's house - we had such a great time! When we were growing up, we went to Grandmom's house every Sunday for lunch and we would all hang out in the afternoon. I miss those days, and last Sunday brought back so many of those memories! It was so great to see everyone and hang out. We were also celebrating the engagement of my cousin Brooke and her fiance Joseph, which is so exciting! Congrats guys!!!
Esther 4:14 - "...and who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" I LOVE this verse! You should read the book of Esther for the full story - it's very short and full of great words! - but Mordecai is telling his adopted daughter, who is now Queen Esther, that maybe she has come to power for the exact moment and situation they are currently in. The reason I love this verse so much is because I think it's true for all of our lives. Every moment in every day has meaning and purpose, and I want to live my life knowing this fact.
So there you go. A little peek into what's been going on the last few weeks since I've been "out!" I hope things are going great for you and that life is blessed.
